Dear Friends,
With heavy hearts, we must postpone this weekend’s Floating Lantern Ceremony and have rescheduled it for Sunday, October 4.
This was not an easy call. The forecast brings a high chance of wind and rain this weekend, and the event space has no covered area to shelter the hundreds of guests we expect. The safety of our guests, volunteers, and the kupuna and families who join us each comes first
Just as importantly, many of our North Hawaii communities are still without power as we recover from Hurricane Lala. Our attention and support belong with them and our southern island communities severely devastated by this storm.
If you’ve already reserved a lantern, we will honor it on October 4. Lantern reservations will remain open at NHH Floating Lantern Reservations if you’d like to reserve a lantern or add another.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. We look forward to gathering with you on October 4. If you have any questions, please contact us at events@northhawaiihospice.org.
With gratitude and aloha,
Faye Mitchell
Executive Director, North Hawaii Hospice
