Grief is experienced differently for each person. It is a process that takes time. It cannot be rushed, but it can be nurtured. North Hawaii Hospice offers ongoing bereavement services in the form of individual counseling and support groups.
There are no fees for groups or individual appointments.
Individual Support, Family Support, and Support for Children
Individual counseling support is available to both hospice families and community members who have lost a loved one.
Individual Appointments (Adults & Youth)
Individual support is offered and can be arranged to meet your schedule. Please call our office at (808) 885-7547 or our Bereavement Counselor at (808) 345-7792 or send an email to brittany@northhawaiihospice.org.
School-Based Student Support Groups
A six-week educational group provided in the schools. Each group will consist of age-appropriate coping skills, ways to express feelings through arts and crafts, activities, and projects to memorialize loved ones. A school support group helps students to not feel so isolated and to gain support from peers.
Community Bereavement (Churches and Businesses)
Support can be offered at business locations for both groups and individuals. For employees who suffer the loss of a co-worker or family member, having support at their workplace can support their healing process.
Groups can be held at churches for members who have lost their loved ones.
*Groups need 4 or more.
