North Hawaii Hospice is in search of a dynamic individual with hospice heart to join our team of professionals providing home hospice care to community members in their homes.
The Volunteer Manager must be comfortable with public speaking, facilitation of training programs, providing community outreach education presentations and supervising and managing individuals possessing a wide variety of ages and backgrounds.
The ideal candidate would have healthcare experience and be familiar with hospice and the hospice philosophy of care.
Since much of our training material, marketing, outreach and volunteer management is done though various computer software programs the individual must be proficient with technology such as Microsoft Office, Constant Contact, Social Media Platforms, and accessing the internet.
This position would be ideal for a semi-retired registered nurse or social worker or a person with experience in volunteer management for a non-profit organization.
The job is part-time 20hrs per week with the ability to flex up to 30 during events and trainings. The position includes full health benefits paid for by the employer as well as mileage reimbursement, paid vacation and sick leave.
College degree, nursing degree, or degree in human services preferred
Minimum of two (2) years in a health care setting, hospice setting or non-profit volunteer management experience preferred
Ability to perform public speaking, facilitation of meetings, facilitation of training sessions, and management of group settings
Ability to supervise, coordinate, and evaluate volunteer services
Ability to organize and develop volunteer hospice personnel for patient care needs, office needs and event needs
Ability to manage a group of individuals providing volunteer time
